Michelina Trezza grew up in Essex County, New Jersey.  Ever since childhood she loved all types of animals.   For many years growing up she found inspiration in her Art classes creating anything that had to do with animals, especially shaggy dogs!!  By the time she was in middle school, Michelina accepted an achievement award for Artistic excellence from the EPA and shook hands with the Mayor of New York City, winning over 6 million other students in 7 states.   She later won another award for Artistic Merit winning over 45,000 people in a local state competition.

Also during her teenage years, Michelina's real dream was to become a singer.  Rob Bell, of famed Kool N' the Gang, was Michelina's manager at the time.  Her family supported her choice not to continue persuing her music career, but she still produces and composes her own material to this day.  The Artist admits her overwhelming fear of the open stage is perhaps what caused her to change her tune.   It was this experience that led her to N.Y. to persue painting again.

By the time she was twenty, Michelina had an Art Exhibit in Peirmont, NY featuring several abstract paintings including a Sheepdog.   By this time she knew that she wanted to stay in that arena.   Shortly therafter, Michelina's painting of actor, Dolph Lundgren, landed her work on the cover of a Canadian Art/Film magazine.  In 2001, she started painting her favorite breed,  the OES.  It started out as word of mouth, and quickly spread to having people email her to have a commissioned painting done.  In the proceeding few months, she purchased her own small space and started filling it with all Old English Sheepdog Artwork.  "I've always been in love with this breed, and for me to mainly be able to paint them every day is such a joy.  Knowing when I'm going to work and it has to do with sheepdogs makes me feel quite lucky," she states.

A once private Studio filled with all types of Old English Sheepdog Art, including, Folk Art, Outsider Art, Realism, and Watercolor. Michelina Studios opened it's doors for all to enjoy.  Shortly thereafter the demand for her Art helped her open Sheepie Dreams to the public selling more commercial type items. She reflects her true passion for the breed into her compositions whether it be a cartoon or a realism painting.  From avid collectors to private clientele, there is something for each and every Old English Sheepdog enthusiast to cherish.  Michelina's Art is sought after globally,  and she now sells her merchandise through authorized retail dealers in Germany, China, and UK.

Aside from painting, Michelina's other true passion is Animal Rescue.  In her free time, she works with the South Lake Animal League donating many items,  and also with all OES Rescue Groups local and international.  "Just knowing I can use my Artwork to help raise money for sheepdogs is quite a compliment.  There is no greater feeling than that."

Michelina currently resides in Orange County, Florida with her two Old English  Sheepdogs,
Matisse (Tanzbaers Dreams R Mayda Theez) & Cozette La Rue.
